Six Social Practices - New Literacies (Beach et al., 2014)

Through their innovative book, Beach et al. (2014) have addressed six social practices involved in use of digital tools:

 1. Contexualizing digital texts
2. Making connections between digital texts and people
3. Collaborative understanding and creation of digital texts
4. Adopting alternative modes of communication
5. Adopting alternative perspectives
6. Constructing and enacting identities (p.3).

My question is this - among those above, how many practices do we - educators using digital tools - realize in our classroom?

생생영어 (3) --  I'm done.   다 했다, 끝이다.  세 번째 표현은 I'm  D one  이다. 정말 정말 많이 쓰이는  표현인데, 뜻은   “다 했다, 끝이다, 끝났다”   등의  의미를 갖고 있다. 한국에서는 do- did-done 이런 패턴으로 do 의 현재완료형이라고  배웠던 이 단어는 일상생활에서 다양한 상황에서 “끝”  이라는 표현으로 쓰인다. 예를 들어,  숙제를 하는 친 구가 있을 때 “Are you done?” 이라고 하면 “숙제 다 했어?”  의 의미가  된다. 하지만  밥을 먹는 상황이라면 이 “Are you done?” 은 “밥 다 먹었어? ” 로 된다. 답할 때 는? “I’m done” 이라고 말하면서 “응 숙제 다 했어, 네,  밥 다 먹었어요” 등의 뜻으로 말할 수 있다. 그럼 여 기서 퀴즈!  남녀가 사귀고 있는 상황에서 한 사람이 어느 날 무거운 표정으로 “you know what?   Constuctivism - Interaction between Subject and External World - Multiple realities - Each individual's meaning making are equally valid - Regardless its alignment or misalignment with existing theories "...constructivism assumes that truths are constructed through the interaction between the subject and the external world (Crotty, 1998). Thus, multiple realities exist, and whether or not those realities support or contradict each other, they are all equally valid.  This means, each teacher constructs meaning in different ways, even if they work in the same school context.   생생 영어 (32) - On the same page 같게 이해하다 32번째 표현은 “ on the same page 같게 이해를 하다 ” 이다. 이 표현은 팀 프로젝트를 할 때 아주 많이 쓰는 표현인데, “ make sure everyone’s on the same page ” 라고 말하면 “ 모든 팀원이 이 프로젝트에 관해서 같은 이해를 하고 있도록 확실히 하세요 ” 의 뜻이 된다. 즉, 어떤 일을 할 때 타임라인이라던지 목표 등을 모두 똑같이 이해하고 있어야 일의 진행이 효율적이 될테니 서로 다르게 이해하는 것이 없도록 하자는 뜻. 이 표현도 아주 직관적이고 심플하다. 마치 여럿이서 책을 같이 보고 있는데 혹시 다른 페이지를 보고 있는 사람이 있을 수도 있으니 “자, 우리 다 같은 페이지를 보고 있는지 확인합시다 (on the same page)” 의 뜻으로 "같은 이해를 합시다"라는 뜻이 된다. <사전 정의: 출처: 맥밀란사전, 번역: 저자> to understand and agree with what is being done or suggested 완료된   일이나   제안된   일에   대해서   이해하고   동의하다 I think we’re all on the same page. 우리   모두가   같게   이해하고   있다고   생각합니다 . 학교나 직장에서 혹은 집에서 다른 사람들과 어떤 일을 같이 할 때 “우리 다 같은 이해를 하고 있도록 확인합시다” 의 의미로 “ let’s make sure we’re on the same page ” 라고 말해 보면 어떨까? 감사합니다.
